Essence of 8-5 class

Nowadays our competitors or should we say the OTHER review institutions are capitalizing on why a nurse examinee (TO BE) would choose 8-2 pm class over the usual 8-5pm class. THEY say that whole day class is very Tiring and it is important that the mind and body needs to rest, they also note that attention span is short usually so why waste the day for that? .. they also note that there should be more hours of self review so as one can validate whatever was discussed during the review hours..

But... the OTHERS are missing some points.. because to MY belief (or should i say to OUR belief) it is deemed essential that a nurse examinee trains himself real hard for endurance, for strength, for lengthy hours to be ready to all rigors of the actual board exam... and that can only be done if they train to a whole day activity or even beyond an 8am to 5pm class... physiologically our body adjusts to whatever we teach our system... if we start training or teaching our body to work on certain hours of the day only, then as we go along it will keep that program... and once we change on any given time there is a possibility it will not function very well... why? because IT got used to it ....

to make it more simple -train your system of a half day class from day 1 of review preparations to the maximum of 90th day (for 3 months of review) then for sure your brain, your whole system will be effective only for half days... which will then be contrary to the ACTUAL board exam requirement which is beyond the half day ..

we need to be careful....

secrets of MERGE

Yesterday I was asked by friends and former Merge Babies, the secrets of HOW Merge reached this certain point of popularity (as they termed it) ... and I replied: "I believe I have to borrow the words I've learned from Dr Lauro Tacbas, the President of UNP and the over all President of PASUC (Phil Association of State Universities & Colleges) .. the 3H - HONESTY, HUMILITY and HARDWORK.... which I myself believed and reflected these really made us go through all the trials ... all the hardships of building the name of MERGE review... but I still consider MERGE not into much popularity compared with other review institutions... it is just that we continue to be BLESSED... hmmmm which made me think now ... 3H + B = secrets of MERGE success at this point...

thank you dear friends and former students- merge babies who became our dear Colleagues now... for the prayers and continued love and support.. :) God bless you always!

Words from ...NOV 2009 NLE Board Topnotcher No. 9 Ms Garlene Rebollos

i am so proud of this lady... so simple... yet there's a lot more one can see from her... and i wish to share her message for the new batch of RNs of MERGE...

There is nothing which can circumvent determined and diligent MERGE babies seeking for success and truth. We are part of this splendid universe and we are here to get the best out of this phase of life.

I salute and congratulate my fellow newly Registered Nurses for we are now in the threshold of our dreams. We have now the key, and how to use it to unlock the door of opportunities waiting ahead rests individually on each one of us. Our parents are full of expectations, our country awaits us, and the world eagerly awaits us to sample the skills our individual Alma Mater had taught us in four years time. This time we open our eyes to the realities confronting us and direct our affairs from the context of the present by harnessing our hopes and plans to improve our life today and tomorrow.

Let’s learn to be realistic for we are faced with a situation, not just a theory. Much as we would like to acknowledge, we are inextricably tied up with problems of survival in this highly competitive world. In other words, the fundamental things in life by which we had been onlookers or passive participants in the past, we now face squarely. This period is a test, how to pass the painful effort of transition and development remains to be seen. So change we must. We cannot tear ourselves apart from the reality of changes that surround us. Otherwise how else do we improve if we do not change? We change our attitude, our vision, our awareness and ways of doing things.

My dear nurses, the great future with all its enigma lies ahead of us and we are on a decisive struggle to stand on our two feet to prove to the world that we are a contributing factor to make society a better world to everybody. Let us try to lead, or at least initiate an action. Together let us tread the path and explore its mystery with greater confidence.

The world remains mysterious. Perhaps, it is lettered with potholes or the ascent may be steep and laborious. But rest assured, that we can say to ourselves that our efforts were not in vain because it made a difference. The difference is the thing that really matters.

Congratulations!
